Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use percs.lol and the pages people make with it, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, switch devices, screen magnifiers, or who are sensitive to motion or flashing.

Our goal

We aim for the parts of percs.lol we build (the home page, login, account page, editor, these policy pages, and the page renderer) to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. We test with automated checks (axe-core) and by using every page with only a keyboard.

What we do

• Everything can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. Pages start with a "Skip to content" link where it helps.
• Buttons, links and form fields have names that screen readers announce.
• Text and controls meet WCAG contrast ratios.
• Animations follow your device's "reduce motion" setting.
• Pages with moving effects or animations show a Pause animations button.
• Music never starts on its own: visitors choose to start it, and there is always a mute button.
• Flashing effects are limited so they never flash more than three times per second.
• Pages work at any zoom level and on phones, tablets and computers.

Pages made by users

Each page's content and design are chosen by the person who made it. The editor helps them make accessible pages: it asks for alt text on images, warns when text is hard to read against its background, and gives every link a readable name. If you find a page that's hard to use, use the Report link at the bottom of that page or email us, and we'll work with its owner.

Known limitations

• In the editor, moving and resizing elements by dragging needs a mouse, touch screen or pen. Everything you can do by dragging can also be done with the keyboard: select elements from the Layers list, type exact positions and sizes in the Design panel, and move them with the arrow keys.
• Embedded players and cards from other services (such as Spotify) are built by those services, and their accessibility is outside our control.
